The Membership Experience Associate (MEA) is the face of the Retro Fitness outlet. The MEA is the person a member or guest sees when he or she first walks into the facility. It is important that this person be TEAM oriented with great communication skills. The MEA employee wears many hats while also ensuring a positive member experience. Customer service, cleanliness, and sales are a must for the club to continue to be successful.

Compensation and Perks:

Requirements:
⦁ 35-40 hours per week with flexible availability is required, including weekends and holidays.
⦁ A positive, upbeat attitude and personality.
⦁ Effective ability to communicate with members, guests, coworkers and managers.
⦁ The ability to multi-task. 
⦁ Customer service oriented.
⦁ Punctual, responsible, reliable and pays attention to detail. 
⦁ Prior sales experience in a retail or health club setting is preferred.
⦁ Handling cash and other transactions at Point of Sale.
⦁ Willingness to learn and work in a goal-oriented and structured environment.

Environment:
⦁ Working environment is inside Retro Fitness of Fort Lee, NJ. Working hours could vary and include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This position is supervised by the positions below and in order of: 
  • General Manager
  • Assistant Manager

Responsibilities of the Membership Experience Associate (MEA):
⦁ Greeting and checking in members and guests as they enter the club.
⦁ Resolving member/guest issues in an effective manner.
⦁ Membership tours/sales and retention. 
⦁ Following up with prospects.
⦁ Selling in-store merchandise such as Retro Blends Smoothies, Cooler Drinks, Pro Shop items, etc.
⦁ Ensuring a safe and clean environment for all members and staff. Cleaning is a MUST for this position.
⦁ Applicable downtime tasks provided by Management may include upkeep & walk throughs of facility. 
⦁ Opening and closing the facility if scheduled.
⦁ Following company policies and procedures.

All MEAs are to wear company staff shirt and name tag with either black or gray pants. Sneakers must always be worn. No shorts, boots, heals, or open toe shoes or sandals. MEAs should always be well groomed and neat. Opening shift employees are required to be inside the facility 15 minutes prior to scheduled opening time ensuring all items on the Opening Checklist are performed before members arrive. Closing employees are to close the facility at the established time and follow the Closing Checklist. Employees are not to count money until all members have left the Retro Fitness outlet and the doors have been locked.
Compensation: $15.50 per hour
